The KCMO Fire Department is accepting applications through November 15 for a new KCFD Academy class that will start January 27 and last 24 weeks and train recruits as fire fighters and emergency medical technicians.
Recruits must be at least 18 and under 30, have a high school diploma or GED and must be city residents or establish residency within nine months of their hiring.
The starting salary for KCMO fire fighters is $51,480, and benefits include comprehensive insurance coverage, 11 paid holidays and a pension plan.
