The 25-year veteran of the department worked her way up from being a civilian records clerk to becoming acting deputy chief and commander of the Patrol Bureau which oversees all six of its patrol divisions plus its traffic and special operations divisions before becoming the unanimous choice of the Kansas City Board of Police Commissioners to be the new chief.
Before her recent assignments, she was commander of the Shoal Creek Patrol Division and head of the department’s Human Resources Division.
