Clothing store opens in Grandview
By Kathy Feist
Shoe Essence Boutique, 508 Main St., in Grandview, celebrated its opening with an official ribbon cutting on Thursday, November 5th, with the Grandview Chamber of Commerce.
Shoe Essence Boutique carries trendy footwear and fashionable clothing in sizes 0 to 24.

Owner Angela Sanders opened the boutique on March 23 “just when the city shut down,” she laughs. She immediately posted her merchandise online at MyShopify.com and began aggressively posting on Facebook, where she now has close to 6000 followers.
The former property manager says she has always had a love for fashion as well as working with numbers. She started selling shoes off and on independently and eventually got into selling clothing on demand. “People began making requests for clothing with different sizes, like curvy,” she says. She soon found herself selling clothing in addition to shoes. “People would tell me ‘This is your niche!’”
Sanders is still trying to get a foothold in retail during Covid and is embarking on selling by consignment.
Shoe Essence Boutique is open Wednesday through Saturday, 10 am to 6 pm. You can shop all hours online at www.shoe-essence.myshopify.com.
