“Nicest DMV in the state” has official ribbon cutting

Grandview officially opened its new Department of Motor Vehicles with a ribbon cutting ceremony Monday, March 18.

The City of Grandview had delivered on its first promise in the Building Up Grandview bond projects with the new Grandview DMV at 1102 Main Street.

Grandview-elected leaders and Missouri Department of Revenue officials cut the ribbon in an early morning ceremony to celebrate the completed project. “This is the model for the other 173 license offices in the state of Missouri,” said Department of Revenue Director Wayne Wallingford.

The $700,000 renovation began in early November and included the addition of 10 windows to serve more customers, multiple spacious waiting areas, and an outdoor plaza. “I’ve been told it’s the ‘nicest DMV in the state,’” explained Grandview Asst. City Administrator and Finance Director Kirk Decker. “It’s definitely a source of pride and customers deserve it.”

Grandview DMV opened at 1102 Main St. and began serving the public on Monday, February 5th. In only 20 business days, it served over 2,500 customers.

Grandview voters overwhelmingly approved the $21M Building Up Grandview No Tax Increase Bond Package in April of 2022. All three questions passed with more than 80% approval.
