The Kansas City Fire Department responded to a reported house fire in the 6000 block of E. 98th at 9:23 a.m.
On arrival crews reported heavy smoke from the split-level home. KCFD initaited offensive operations using two handlines. Searches of the structure came back all clear, with no injuries reported at this incident. The cause of the fire is under investigation by KCFD.
Support for the two adults and two children who live in the home were provided by the American Red Cross.
