On Tuesday evening around 7:35 pm, ambulance services responded to meet South Patrol Officers on a reported injury collision with critical injuries. Preliminary investigation revealed that a silver Ford Mustang was traveling westbound on Red Bridge at a high rate of speed. For reasons unknown, the Ford was traveling with the passenger door open. The Ford made a quick left turn from Red Bridge onto southbound Bennington. As the Ford was completing the turn, the unrestrained front seat passenger was ejected from the vehicle. The passenger’s head struck the concrete curb, and the passenger was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries. The passenger is currently in critical condition and the investigation, to include suspected impairment of the Ford driver, is ongoing.
