Jazz Patio Concert at First Baptist Church
The KC Kicks Big Band will perform outdoors at a Jazz Patio Concert, Sunday evening, August 14, at the First Baptist Church of Kansas City, 100 W Red Bridge Rd. Food is served at 6:45 pm. The concert is at 7 pm.
The 21-piece big band will perform such numbers as A Tisket A Tasket, Since I Fell For You, I Just Found Out About Love and It’s Not Unusual among other Big Band standards.
The band, under the leadership of Ross Woolf, consists of 3 singers, 5 saxophones, 4 trombones, 5 trumpets, bass, guitar, drums and auxiliary percussion. Founded in 1987, KC Kicks has performed for the BOTAR Ball, fundraisers, weddings, and anniversary. But this is the first time they have performed at First Baptist Church of Kansas City. They will return in April for a Jazz Vespers concert at the church.
