Jackson County Legislators Manuel Abarca IV, Sean Smith and Venessa Huskey will host a Commercial Property Tax Appeals Town Hall on Wednesday, July 9th at The Atrium at J.Rieger & Co. located at 2700 Guinotte Ave., Kansas City MO 64120. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. with the program beginning promptly at 6:00 p.m.
This town hall aims to provide critical information to commercial property owners about the appeals process for property tax assessments. With the appeals deadline set for July 14th, this event will likely be the final opportunity for business owners to ask questions, receive guidance, and begin or finalize their appeals.
Legislator Abarca, Smith and Huskey will offer remarks on current assessment issues and the need for transparency and fairness in the tax process. County experts will also be on hand to provide support and assistance for those preparing or submitting their commercial property tax appeals.
“This is a matter of fairness, transparency, and helping our local businesses with this new Frank White tax scheme,” said Legislator Abarca. “We’re working hard to ensure property owners understand their rights and options, especially with time running out.”
