On Sunday afternoon just before 5 o’clock officers were dispatched to the 11500 block of Holliday Dr on a sound of shots call.
When officers arrived they were directed to an adult male shooting victim that was unresponsive in the apartment parking lot.
Officers summoned EMS into the scene to render aid and they declared the victim deceased here at the scene. The victim has been identified as Donell Cooper Jr, a black male, age 38. He would have celebrated his 39th birthday on Wednesday.
Detectives are canvassing for any witnesses and crime scene investigators are processing the scene for any evidence.
Detectives are hopeful that someone around the apartment complex heard or saw something that would help them piece together what led up to the shooting.
