Kansas City fire fighters responded to a reported house fire in the 900 block of west 131st at 2:55 a.m. Crews reported smoke showing from the attic and roof of a one and half story home on arrival. Interior operations were initiated. Searches of the structure came back all clear. The occupants were able to self-evacuate. Crews quickly got the fire under control. The occupants claim that a possible lighting strike was to blame. The cause is under investigation by KCFD. No injuries were reported at this incident.
