Road rage leads to death at 102nd and Wornall

On Saturday night around  10:45 pm, officers were dispatched to the 10200 block of Wornall Rd. on a reported shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim in the gas station parking lot suffering from apparent gunshot trauma. Officers immediately began rendering medical aid until EMS arrived and transported the victim to an area hospital where he was subsequently pronounced deceased.

Preliminary information indicates this incident may have been a result of road rage. An adult male subject of interest remained on scene and was taken into custody by responding officers. Detectives are not currently seeking any additional persons of interest.

Homicide detectives and crime scene personnel have responded to the scene to begin gathering evidence and collecting witness statements. This incident is being investigated as a homicide and is ongoing at this time.
