Harvesters cancels weekend food pantry in Martin City due to weather
The Harvesters mobile food pantry has been cancelled for Saturday, February 16, at the Martin City Baptist Church, 520 E. 132 Terr. Due to the possibility of inclement weather, Harvesters has made the decision to not do any transport over the weekend, according to Meagan Fortner, spokesperson for Three Trails Community, which sponsors the monthly food drive. The service will be back on schedule starting March 16.
Since hosting the pantry in November, the number of cars has increased from 20 to 50. “On average we feed about 200 people with each event,” says Fortner. The hours for the mobile food pantry is 11 am to 2 pm on the second Saturday of the month.
