Unwanted bulky items such as old furniture, tires with or without rims and trash can be properly disposed of for no charge from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 4, by any KCMO residents at First Baptist Church of Kansas City, 100 W. Red Bridge Rd., and at South Broadland Presbyterian Church, 7850 Holmes Rd.
Free on-site paper shredding also will be available at both locations.
Electronics and appliances containing Freon such as air conditioning units, freezers and refrigerators also will be accepted at South Broadland, but there will be cash fees for everything except LCD computer monitors.
Fees are $5 for CRT computer monitors, printers & copiers; $10 for items containing Freon; $20 for all flat screen TVs; $30 for CRT TVs 26 inches or less; and $50 for CRT TVs 27 inches or more, big screen TVs & projection TVs.
The annual 6th Council District spring clean up will be conducted by the KCMO Public Works Department and is sponsored by 6th District Councilmembers Andrea Bough and Johnathan Duncan.
