
UMKC honors south KC residents

South Kansas City dentist and resident Dr. Joseph Spalitto received the UMKC School of Dentistry Alumni Achievement Award on June 15. Spalitto is president of the School’s Alumni Association. For over 10 years Spalitto and his wife traveled to Guatemala to provide free dental services.

Dana Tippin Cutler, a south Kansas City attorney and the first woman of color to be elected president of the Missouri Bar’s Board of Governors, received the UMKC School of Law Alumni Achievement Award at the same event.
Geri Haile, manager of the Blue Ridge Branch of the Mid-Continent Public Library (MCPL), was a 2018 finalist for MCPL’s John Ferguson Legacy Award for outstanding library service that was presented at MCPL’s annual Legacy Luncheon on June 15.
