The Holmes Garden Neighborhood Association is asking residents of south KC to participate in its first annual Holiday Toy Drive benefitting neighborhood children.
Representatives from the group will be collecting new, unwrapped gifts for children and youth on Saturday, December 13 and Saturday, December 20, from 1 to 5 pm at the association headquarters, 9543 Charlotte St. Donors may also call to arrange a special drop off time.
Donors may also drop off gifts at the Martin City Telegraph office from 10 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday. The office is located at 13610 Washington Street (next door to El Maguey).
Ideal items are K-Pop Demon Hunters, Mickey Mouse, Siren Head, sports balls, board games, art supplies, action figures, craft kits, head phones, bluetooth speakers, gift cards for teenagers.
Gifts will be distributed to children who live in the Holmes Garden Neighborhood, made up of more than 100 families residing within duplex homes along Bannister Road, between Holmes and Troost.
CEO Denise Hart says she hopes to help least 40 families in the neighborhood, and that the Toy Drive becomes an annual event.
