Honking for Heroes
People are asked to show their appreciation for the St. Joseph Medical Center employees who are working long hours to treat COVID-19 patients, while still caring for all their other patients and fulfilling their normal responsibilities, by parking their vehicles by the Medical Center, 1000 Carondelet Dr., and honking their horns anytime from 4-5:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 15.
“We want to fill the parking lot!” says spokeswoman Ericka Beeler. A similar Honking for Heroes was hosted April 22, surprising front-line workers getting off work. Some reported tears from the touching demonstration of appreciation.
Everyone is asked to stay in their vehicles and maintain social distancing during the appreciation ceremony.
