The Waldo Area Business Association is celebrating leap year by kicking off its 9th Annual Waldo Week on February 29. The kick off event includes live music and free cocktails at the 75th Street Events space, 214 W. 75 St. The weeklong event, which ends March 7th, includes special offers from participating businesses and restaurants and pop-ups.
Mike’s Wine & Spirits is sponsoring the February 29th event from 5 – 8 pm and will be providing an open bar. The band Rumble Ghost will perform from 6:30 – 7:30 pm.
Throughout the week, donations will be collected to support The Children’s Place. The Children’s Place is a non-profit trauma treatment center for young children located in the Waldo area. Monetary donations can be made by mentioning Waldo at www.childrensplacekc.org/donate. The Children’s Place is also seeking items for our food pantry – canned meat and pasta, fruit snacks, granola bars, small boxes of cereal, oatmeal, juice boxes, etc. Please no glass jars or peanut products.
Waldo Week was created as a way to showcase the diverse restaurants, retail, unique services, and entertainment experiences offered in the neighborhood and offer the community the chance to support a local non-profit organization.
