The Regnier Family Wonderscope Children’s Museum of Kansas City has expanded its free “Road to Readiness” kindergarten prep program to include a Spanish language option. Both English-speaking and Spanish-speaking families can get started with the program by registering and attending one of the following bilingual orientation sessions at Wonderscope:
- Fri, May 28, at 10:00 am & 1:00 pm
- Sat, May 29, 10:00 am & 1:00 pm
Register online at wonderscope.org or by calling 816-643-6700.
Road to Readiness is free with museum admission or membership. Low-income families who qualify for public assistance may take advantage of Wonderscope’s reduced ticket price program or become members through the museum’s Wonder Fund.
Road to Readiness was developed by Wonderscope’s Education Committee (made up of early childhood educators, therapists and administrators, and staff) to prepare children for kindergarten using a customized curriculum with a series of learning experiences packaged in a colorful booklet for children and their adults.
The self-paced program is divided into sections related to Wonderscope exhibits and programs. Each section provides activities to complete with tips for conversation with the child. After completing the program, children and their families are invited to a special graduation ceremony.
