The delegation of athletes representing the US Olympic Committee has nearly 600 members, including nearly two dozen athletes who have a tie to the Kansas City area.
The previous record of simultaneous jumping jacks was 2,250 people.
A big part of the team’s popularity at home this season, in addition to their success on the pitch, is their new stadium, CPKC Stadium, the first purpose-built stadium for professional women’s sports in the world.
Soccer, tennis, track and field, and golf had champions from a variety of private and public schools in south Kansas City, with Notre Dame de Sion topping the list off as state soccer champions.
