New twin bridges on Raytown Road over the Lumpkins Fork stream near Longview Lake were opened to traffic September 17 immediately after a ribbon cutting.
The $3.2 million construction project was completed ahead of schedule to replace the crumbling structure over the stream that had forced the closure of Raytown Road for months for safety reasons between Highgrove Road and Harry Truman Drive.
The project included a pedestrian bridge for the adjacent Longview Lake Trail.
