Kansas City Fire Department crews responded to a reported apartment fire in the 11500 block of Holmes at 9:16 p.m.
Crews reported smoke and fire showing from a two-story apartment on arrival. Offensive interior operations were initiated using multiple handlines. Searches of the structure came back all clear. One occupant was transported for evaluation for non-fire related issues. One firefighter was treated on scene for heat related issues. About 8 to 10 units have been damaged. Red Cross has been ordered along with dangerous buildings. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

A previous fire at 112th and McGee was reported at 6:45 pm, only a few blocks away. That fire is also under investigation by the KCPD Bomb and Arson squad.
