Greek Festival expected to draw thousands
Thousands of people from all over the metropolitan area and beyond will be flocking to 120th and Wornall for 58th Annual Greek Festival held September 6-8. According to Al Safady, Festival Chairman, around 10,000 people usually attend the weekend celebration. “We have seating for 1,000, so it gets tight around 6 pm both Friday and Saturday nights,” he says.
The festival includes authentic Greek food and pastries, live Greek music, Hellenic dancing, imported Greek souvenirs, tours of the church and a presentation about the Greek Orthodox faith. The book store will be open during that time.
The festival runs Friday from 6-10 p.m, Saturday from noon to 10 p.m., and Sunday, from noon to 6 p.m. As usual, it will be held on the grounds of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 120th and Wornall.
