KC Fire Department responded to a reported house fire in the 7700 block of Wallace (near 77th and Blue Ridge) at 7:32 pm.
On arrival crews found a fire in the basement of an occupied home. Interior operations were initiated using multiple hand lines. Searches of the structure were conducted and came back all clear. The occupants were able to self-evacuate. The fire is currently under control, and companies are in salvage and overhaul operations.
The cause of the fire will be investigated by KCFD.
