St. Luke’s Community Hospital Has Grand Opening
It’s captured the curiosity of all who travel near 132nd and State Line Rd. The mostly abandoned shopping strip on the Leawood side of the border has had continuous construction since May 2017. High fencing and No Trespassing signs surround the corner property.
But on Monday, January 22, from 4-6 p.m., the public is invited in to tour St. Luke’s Community Hospital in south Kansas City. Light refreshments will be served.
The Leawood facility is one of several micro hospitals that St. Luke’s plans to erect in the metropolitan area. Micro-hospitals are smaller versions of full-service hospitals that include beds for admissions, trauma care, diagnostics and other services, including smaller wait times.
The hospital will have seven outpatient ER beds and eight inpatient beds for observation, additional testing, and overnight inpatient stays. It will be open round the clock.
While the Grand Opening is planned, the actual opening of the hospital has yet to be determined.
